Nick Kyrgios was able to save five match points in his match against Frances Tiafoe and after the match, he explained how he approaches them.

As much as Kyrgios loves competing and winning the Australian is not bothered by losses because he understands they are part of tennis. He learned a long time ago to let losses go because you can't and won't win every single match. It served him well against Tiafoe who squandered plenty of chances to win the match against the Aussie.

Asked what allowed him to save so many match points, Kyrgios said:

"Yeah, look, I don't even think about it as a match point or not. At the end of the day, if I lose, I lose. I'm going to shake that person's hand and say, "Too good." That's all I did. I put myself in a position to stay in the match, and I felt, my experience, he was getting the crowd up and involved early on. I wasted a little bit of energy early."

Kyrgios also explained that it's been a very tough week for him in Washington due to the brutal conditions in DC this week as well as the circumstances of his stay in Washington:

"Tired, obviously playing two matches again tomorrow, singles and then doubles afterwards. You know, this week has been difficult with rain and with just late matches, drug testing, everything. So it's been really tough to just get a good sleep."
