By beating Naomi Osaka in San Jose, Coco Gauff became the 5th youngest player since 2000 to reach 14 WTA quarterfinals.

Gauff became the fifth youngest player to accomplish it since 2000, and it's a huge milestone because it demonstrates her maturity and consistency at such a young age. That is encouraging for her career because Gauff would like to be as steady as possible in tennis, a sport that favors consistency quite a bit and rewards it heavily.

With the goal of winning her third career trophy this week, Gauff is currently playing some of the best tennis she has played in a very long time. Noted names on the list that Gauff added herself to include grand slam champions Kim Clijsters and Maria Sharapova. The other two players are Nicole Vaidisova and Tatiana Golovin. Both had solid careers but they never won a major.
