After almost a year, Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka will meet once again, this time at the 2022 Citi Open in Washington.
Coco Gauff was only 15-years-old when the two met for the first time at the 2019 US Open and Naomi Osaka showed great respect for her opponent after beating her 6-3, 6-0. Then, the teenager won at the Australian Open before Osaka made it 2-1 in H2H last year in Cincinnati.
Now, they will meet again. In the first round of the 2022 Citi Open in Washington, Coco Gauff destroyed Anhelina Kalinina 6-1, 6-0. On the other hand, Naomi Osaka played her first match in more than 2 months and needed three sets to beat Qinwen Zheng.
The match will be definitely watched by thousands of viewers as Gauff and Osaka are always capable of providing a great show and the winner of this match will take on the second-seeded Paula Badosa or Elizabeth Mandlik, daugter of Hana Mandlikova who recently won her first WTA match.
