It's been almost 17 months since Eugenie Bouchard played her last professional tennis match and it seems that fans will see the 2014 Wimbledon finalist very soon again.

The 28-years-old Canadian announced her comeback already at this year's Wimbledon, but she eventually withdrew from the event and didn't appear on any entry list until now. But it is only a WTA 125 event that Eugenie Bouchard signed up for.

Former world number 5 will play at the 2022 Odlum Brown VanOpen as she received a wild-card for the event that she played already in 2012, the same year that she won the girls' Wimbledon title.

The event is very popular among Canadian players as also Bianca Andreescu and Leylah Fernandez competed at the Odlum Brown. Eugenie Bouchard will hope to kick-start her career again and win her first title since 2014.
