The draw for the 2023 Dubai Championships, a WTA 1000 event played from February 19th to 25th, was released and it is full of star names.

The 2023 Dubai Championships is the first WTA 1000 tournament of the season and so it's not a surprise that almost every player that could sign up for the event, will play in the United Arab Emirates, as the tournament offers a great chance to earn points and prize money.

The first-seeded player at the event is world no. 1, Iga Swiatek. The young Pole will face an early test, as she will meet a qualifier or the 2021 US Open finalist, Leylah Fernandez in the second round.

The 2023 Australian Open champion, Aryna Sabalenka, will play her first event since the major triumph, and in the second round of the tournament, she will take on Jil Teichmann or Anastasia Potapova.

The third-seeded player in Dubai is Jessica Pegula, who will start against Kaia Kanepi or a qualifier, and her good friend and doubles partner, Coco Gauff, can also meet a qualifier or Aliaksandra Sasnovich.

The most interesting first-round match will include two Grand Slam champions, as the ninth-seeded Elena Rybakina will play against the 2019 US Open champion, Bianca Andreescu.

Winner of this match can meet another major winner, Sofia Kenin in the next round as the American starts against Marie Bouzkova in the first round.

The sixth-seeded Maria Sakkari will start against one of the Czech players, that have experience with a Grand Slam final, as she will await Karolina Pliskova or Marketa Vondrousova in round two. Be sure to check the full WTA Draw for the 2023 Dubai Championships below.
