From October 3rd until 9th, some of WTA players will travel to Monastir for the 2022 Tunisia Open, one of the last two WTA 250 tournaments this season.
WTA calendar doesn't offer a lot of events in October and so if players want to improve their rankings before the season ends, they have to use opportunities that they get. And one of the opportunities will be at the 2022 Tunisia Open in Monastir where Ons Jabeur is the top-seeded.
The Tunisian will be certainly supported by home fans and she's the biggest favourite to win the event. But that doesn't mean she won't face a tough opposition. In the first round of the tournament, Jabeur will be facing Ann Li, who is coming from Tallinn, where she lost to Kaia Kanepi in the second round.
Veronika Kudermetova is the second-seeded at the 2022 Tunisia Open in Monastir and the Russian will begin her tournament against fellow compatriot Varvara Gracheva.
Experienced Alize Cornet also plays in Monastir and she will start her tournament against Laura Pigossi. Elise Mertens is the fifth-seeded and Belgian will hope to break a long wait for the trophy as she hasn't lifted one since February last year. In the first round, she will play against Jaqueline Cristian from Romania.
