Nick Kyrgios is one of the twelve players competing at the 2022 Diriyah Tennis Cup and that means he has also some duties at the event.
The Diriyah Tennis Cup attempts to bring tennis to Middle East, where fans usually don't get to enjoy a lot of ATP action. With players like Stefanos Tsitsipas, Daniil Medvedev, Hubert Hurkacz, Alexander Zverev and also Nick Kyrgios, they are quite successful as the event that will be held in Arena at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Diriyah in Saudi Arabia promises to be a great spectacle.
Fulfilling some duties that go alongside the participation, Kyrgios, Tsitsipas, Berrettini and Hurkacz were asked some rapid-fire questions that they were supposed to answer on the video. While some provided some well-thought answers, others fulfilled the challenge and fired back their answers.
The most surprising answer came when players were supposed to finish the sentence: "Tennis is the best sport because...".
His Greek rival answered: "I feel complete sense of freedom and my self-esteem is raising." Similar answers were provided also by Hurkacz and Berrettini. The Pole said: "It's a lot of fun. Two players playing against each other, they can battle for hours."
However, Kyrgios provided a different answer than his colleagues from the ATP Tour, as he said: "It's not the best sport."
An answer to which sport would the Australian choose as 'the best' came a couple of questions later when players were supposed to finish a sentence "My favorite sport besides tennis is..."
The 2022 Wimbledon finalist didn't hesitate a second and answered 'basketball'. It's not a secret that Kyrgios really enjoys playing basketball and anytime he has a chance, he appears on the court, usually in a jersey of his favourite team Boston Celtics.
