Andy Murray returned to the Davis Cup and played a very solid match to take down Leandro Riedi in three sets.

This match was crucial for Great Britain because a victory books them a spot in the knockout stages of the Davis Cup Finals. They won their first matchup, so this one against Switzerland could seal the deal. Murray was nominated to play, and he accepted, making a return to the competition.

He last played in the Davis Cup last year, which many assumed was his final participation in the event. He returned this year with excitement, believing the team was good enough to go all the way, and he hopes to add his contribution to that.

He did on Friday by winning a highly complex match against Switzerland's Riedi, and he was playing really well but also dealt with his grandmother passing away. After the match, Murray dedicated the win to his late grandmother, Ellen, struggling to speak and fighting tears.

He actually revealed that her funeral was on the same day, and having to play the match means that he missed it. He apologized to his family and dedicated the win to the grandmother walking away from the mic eventually to a loud applause from the crowd.

"Today is a tough day for me. Today is actually my, it's actually my grans funeral today. And I'm sorry to my family that I'm not able to be there but yeah gran that one is for you."

It's been a while since we saw Murray this emotional, but it's understandable. His grandmother meant a lot to him, and you can see in the way he struggles to speak how painful her passing is to him. See the video of the emotional but also beautiful moment below.
