The 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters witnessed a heartwarming family affair as Novak Djokovic secured win in the presence of his loving family.
With his wife Jelena, son Stefan, and daughter Tara, cheering enthusiastically from the player's box, Djokovic's return to the court after a month-long absence was nothing short of a celebration as the Serb defeated Ivan Gakhov in two sets.
Among the most passionate supporters in the crowd were Djokovic's children, with five-year-old Tara stealing the show. Her infectious enthusiasm and excitement for her father's performance delighted the audience, and her charming imitation of Djokovic's victory celebration melted hearts.
In the past, Djokovic said that his son Stefan is in love with tennis and many tennis fans would surely love to see Stefan Djokovic winning Grand Slam titles in the future but Tara seems to be passionate about tennis too.
However, Stefan is already making his mark as he managed to practice at Wimbledon with his father and attending their father's matches is certainly a great inspiration for both Tara and Stefan. After his win in Monte Carlo, Djokovic said:
"It was probably, if you can call it this way, an ugly tennis win for me today. I haven't played my best, particularly in the first set. And I kind of expected that that was going to happen in a way with swirly conditions, a lot of wind today, changing directions.
"It's different practising and then playing an official match on clay, [where] I guess no two bounces are the same. It's always quite unpredictable what's going to happen. But all in all, I'm just pleased with the way I held my nerves I think in the important moments and I managed to clinch the two-set win."
