The 2019 ATP season was a memorable one for many reasons, and it reflected on the year-end ATP Rankings.

It saw the continued rise of young stars like Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev, as well as the resurgence of veteran players like Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.

In January, Djokovic began his season by winning the Australian Open, his seventh title at the tournament. He then went on to win the Wimbledon Championships in July, bringing his Grand Slam total to 16 and solidifying his position as one of the all-time greats.

Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal continued his dominance on clay, winning his twelfth Roland Garros title in June. He also won the US Open, where he defeated Daniil Medvedev in a thrilling five-set match. 2019 ATP Season Summary:

A major breakthrough from young players was long due prior to the 2019 ATP season and even though veterans dominated the Grand Slam stage, and also the year-end rankings, the youngsters showed their undeniable qualities.

Daniil Medvedev won four titles, Stefanos Tsitsipas lifted three, including the ATP Finals, while the likes of Matteo Berrettini, Alexander Zverev, and Nick Kyrgios each managed to win two titles.

On top of that, Alex de Minaur triumphed at three events, while the oldest from the new generation of players, Dominic Thiem, won joint-most five titles, and played in the Roland Garros final.

All in all, it wasn't surprising when Nadal topped the rankings in front of Djokovic, and their third buddy, Roger Federer, and five youngsters followed, with Daniil Medvedev, Dominic Thiem, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, and Matteo Berrettini all making it to the Top 10.
