Nick Kyrgios had one of the best seasons of his career, but still, it wasn't enough to be recognized as the best tennis player in Australia.

The 27-year-old Australian finished his season as the highest-ranked Australian in both singles and doubles, with one Grand Slam doubles title to his name and also one major singles final at Wimbledon. However, all of that wasn't enough, as Ashleigh Barty collected her fifth Newcombe Medal for the best Australian player of the season.

After the ceremony, a comparison between Barty and Kyrgios appeared on the social media as it looked at their stats this season. It compared Barty's three titles to Kyrgios' four in singles and doubles combined as well as overall match wins (14 vs 61). Grand Slam titles were tied at 1 as Kyrgios also lifted one in Australia.

It didn't take long before the Australian no. 1 noticed this comparison and shared it with a caption stating: "No respect at all. I don't give a f**k," Kyrgios stated on his story.

Speaking after her win, Barty said: "I stand here very proudly knowing that I absolutely fulfilled every ounce that I could to this to this beautiful sport and it brought me so much more than I could have ever dreamed," Barty said.

"It's obviously an amazing way to cap off what has been an incredible journey. The journey of a lifetime, the journey of me chasing after my dreams and exploring what was possible out in the world."
