During the off-season players sign up for various exhibition events and some of them are in exotic locations for tennis world and ATP players.
One of those is also the 2022 Diriyah Tennis Cup, which is attended by players such as Nick Kyrgios, Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev. British player Cameron Norrie and also former coach Judy Murray were warned that they will be performing sports washing in Saudi Arabia and others were also not left out when the event was being criticized.
Reflecting on the current weeks, journalist Mike Dickson tweeted: "Tennis so far this month: Players travelling to exhibition in Russia; others troughing on Saudi Arabia cash; Wimbledon hammered for taking a stand on Ukraine. What a time to be alive."
The Australian, who is one of the players competing in Saudi Arabia, noticed his tweet and soon responded: "You have a problem with us playing in Saudi? It’s a beautiful place?"
Dickson didn't wait long to answer: "I’m sure it is from where you’re standing." Once again, Kyrgios responded: "So salty no need to be butt hurt that I’m getting paid well for doing what I love around the world. Carry on."
