Judy Murray will be part of the Diriyah Tennis Cup in Saudia Arabia where she will be teaching tennis however it's been called sports washing.

Many athletes received backlash for agreeing to participate in the event because of the nation's abhorrent human rights record, particularly when it comes to women's issues. Judy Murray, a well-known supporter of women in sports and other fields, will also participate, which raised quite a few eyebrows.

"While promoting women's sport in a country which has long stifled women and girls' human rights is a positive thing, it is important that Judy Murray should realise she's being asked to perform a sports washing role in Saudi Arabia," said an Amnesty International spokesperson.

Her son, Andy Murray, a proud feminist, turned down a 7-figure sum to play in the country citing their appalling human rights record as a reason. The official further said:

"We encourage Judy Murray, as we would other attendees at the Diriyah Tennis Cup, to use the opportunity to speak out and show solidarity with those who are being persecuted in Saudi Arabia's relentless crackdown on human rights."
