'Martian' Alcaraz Not Capable Of Beating Djokovic In Wimbledon Final Says Musetti's Coach

The coach of Lorenzo Musetti called Carlos Alcaraz a 'Martian' but he doesn't think that the Spaniard can beat Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final.

If you asked this question a month ago then you'd probably find most people associated with tennis agreeing. However, his recent Queen's Club run which surprised Alcaraz himself got many thinking that he will have some chances.

The Spaniard himself is keen to break up the dominance of Djokovic at Wimbledon despite understanding that it will be tougher on grass than other surfaces. Simone Tartarini, the coach of Musetti still sees Novak Djokovic as the favourite.

Djokovic favorite? Absolutely yes, after all, he has won the tournament seven times and he comes from the success in Paris. So, he's definitely the player to beat.

Having Djokovic as the favourite in London is only logical. He's been utterly spectacular, winning the event in the last few years. The Serbian also has more wins at Wimbledon than the rest of the top 20 combined which paints a very clear picture. When it comes to Alcaraz, Tartarini sees him as a 'Martian' but doesn't think he will have enough on the grass.

Alcaraz is a Martian and has an incredible ability to adapt. He is certainly not a "herbivore", but the more he plays, the more he improves. I don't think he can beat Nole, if they meet in the final at Wimbledon, but we'll see.

Aside from the very colourful way of describing things, Tartarini might have forgotten that Matt Damon is the original Martian. Doesn't matter if it's him or Alcaraz, Nick Kyrgios certainly agrees with the Italian coach. He doesn't think anybody but him can beat Djokovic at Wimbledon.

Alcaraz agreed with that a week ago but the Spaniard is certainly confident after his trophy run at the Cinch Championship. He's even admitted to changing his expectations after his really solid level shown in Queen's Club.
