There has been a lot of speculation lately that Carlos Alcaraz is being coached during the match and he kind of confirmed it last night.

After beating Sebastian Korda in straight sets Alcaraz gave a post-match interview to Mats Wilander. In the interview, Wilander asked Alcaraz about adopting serve and volley as a tactic late in the 2nd set. Alcaraz responded to the question but with a mid-sentence correction to avoid admitting to being coached in real-time:

"Juan Carlos ... Juan Carlos ... Well, I know Juan Carlos always told me in the tough moments, in the close moments, I always go aggressive."

Alcaraz was on his way to admitting that Juan Carlos Ferrero, his coach, told him to do that in real-time but he kind of saved it. There has been a lot of talks lately about how the Spaniard is being coached by Ferrero all the time during matches without any warnings issued. Some players have already complained about it behind the scenes with them exchanging long glances after every rally.

Stefanos Tsitispas is a player who got a lot of heat for non-stop coaching and that reputation has earned him numerous warnings over the past years. It's become so annoying that he gets warnings pretty much any time anything out of his box comes and it's left him frustrated more than a few times. In a recent clash with an umpire, he protested that other players need to be penalized as well.

Coaching is a controversial topic in tennis as many are against it with some like Tsitsipas, backing it publicly.
