Booing at the 2022 Roland Garros seems to be going out of control as many players now felt the disappointment of the French fans and now also the French player, Alize Cornet.

Previously, Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev and some other players got booed on the courts at the 2022 Roland Garros. However, the French crowd usually heavily supports their players and they also did when Alize Cornet defeated Misaki Doi and Jelena Ostapenko in the first two round.

However, in the third round, the experienced French player took on Qinwen Zheng who didn't let her win a single game in front of home fans. That was also caused by the injury that Cornet was struggling with and when the scoreboard was showing 6-0, 3-0, she has decided to retire. Some fans didn't like it as they booed at the home player, what usually doesn't occur when a player retires due to an injury.

After the match, Cornet commented on this situation, when she said: "The whistles almost hurt me more than the injury itself. It's abuse. When you see everything I've been giving on the court for years, it's unfair .With the pain, at some point it no longer makes sense to continue. It was my decision to go on the field but I was never going to forfeit a Grand Slam, I tried."
