The ATP Finals will be contested today and Casper Ruud will have the chance to defeat Djokovic for the first time in his career.

Ruud has thus far failed in all three of his attempts. It's a mismatch issue mainly because Ruud has a better chance of outhitting Djokovic today even though he lacks the power to do so generally. The chance to win is even bigger considering how aggressively Djokovic is playing compared to normal leaving himself prone to errors.

"Ranking-wise I'm maybe ahead of him but I feel like the underdog," said Ruud with a smile. "He has won this tournament five times and I've seen them all on TV and how great he played."

Reflecting further on the match, Ruud knows that it's going to be tough but there are ways to beat him as he talked about Rune's win a few weeks ago:

"He's a player that doesn't have many weaknesses at all, but you know he's human. He's had a great year even though he's been unfortunate with everything going on for him. He lost two weeks ago to Rune in the final, so it's not like he plays these finals every day of his career and his life. I am sure he will also feel a little bit of pressure."

"There's a lot on the line," concluded Ruud.
