Holger Rune and Casper Ruud have signed up to play at the 2023 Moselle Open in November alongside some other notable players.
The ATP 250 event in Metz will be a solid one, with an exciting group of players already signed up for the event. We have a local man, Ugo Humbert, who was born in Metz and will try to win the event for the first time in his career.
We have Lorenzo Sonego, who is always dangerous on indoor hard courts, as well as Karen Khachanov. The Russian missed a lot of time this summer due to injuries but was always a good player indoors, having won his biggest trophy at the Paris Masters indoors.
They're not the only ones as of recently, we have some Scandinavian power in the house. Holger Rune also won the Paris Masters last year, proving himself as a force indoors. He has really good results in those types of conditions, and he'll be in Metz. Another player from his part of the world that will play there is Casper Ruud.
Both have had less than stellar results this year but will try to finish off the season on a high note in Moselle. Both are battling for a spot in Turin, so this event might end up being crucial for both players to ensure a place there.
On the flip side, if they secure a place in Turin by then, they might also withdraw. For now, they're in the draw, as the Instagram page of the event announced both. Expect a few more players to sign up for the event, but even now, we have essentially two Top 10 players in the draw, which is really good for an ATP 250 event.
The event takes place from November 5th till the 11th, with the ATP Finals coming up the week after that.
