Jimmy Connors thinks that Rafael Nadal became a father at the perfect time giving him a chance to spend time with the baby before he heads out to play tennis some more.
Nadal will have plenty of time to spend with his newborn son before he has to make his way to Australia to try and defend his Australian Open final. The Spaniard welcome his first child recently and Connors, as a father himself, knows that it is an adjustment to make:
"It's an adjustment. I'm not saying it cannot be done because it can. It can be handled. The adjustment that he'll make if he wants to continue working, he's a worker anyway, so he'll figure it out if he wants to continue playing."
"He's a little bit older and at the end of the year like now, things really worked out well for him," added Connors in a chat with his son. "He doesn't really play that much at the end of the year anyway. So he can enjoy his new baby and get through the next couple of months, get ready for Australia or whatever his next event is."
