'Didn't Imagine Him Winning Three': Nadal Surprised By Djokovic's Grand Slam Success

by Sebastian Dahlman

Rafael Nadal expected Novak Djokovic to win Grand Slams this season, but he didn't expect him to win three of them.

Nadal and Djokovic have a fierce rivalry, with Djokovic naming Nadal as his greatest rival. They're currently in a battle to see who will finish with the most Grand Slams, and while Djokovic is the big favourite to finish so, many are reluctant to call the race over until one of them retires.

Nadal said in an interview not long ago that Djokovic cares about the race much more than him, and he made another admission regarding it recently as well. He admitted that he was surprised to see Djokovic winning three of the four Grand Slams this year, even though he expected him to win at least one.

In the end, we all know that Djokovic is what he is and that he has achieved something historic, something that had never been achieved before and we can only congratulate him. The truth is that I imagined Djokovic winning Grand Slam this season, but I did not imagine him winning three because I think there is another young generation that is very powerful.

Alcaraz had a great opportunity at Roland Garros to prevent Djokovic from winning, but what happened physically happened to him, although after he made up for it and achieved something historic at Wimbledon.

Nadal is currently away from tennis due to his injury, but he will make a comeback soon enough. Some reports suggest that the Spaniard will be back early next year at the Australian Open, but he's yet to confirm that.

He came out and denied that it's set in stone, so we'll see what happens. He's back to practising, so the return is near; we just don't know how near it really is.
