Many tennis fans were frustrated by the changes announced when the pandemic hit also the tennis world and they thought that the ATP Rankings were unfair.

This week marks the conclusion of a protracted period of covid-era adjustment and the reinstatement of the ATP Rankings to their standard 52-week calculating methodology. All points from competitions held in 2019 and 2020 have decreased since the end of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Montreal.

Therefore, in accordance with the established merit-based ranking methodology in use since 1973, the ATP Rankings are now limited to outcomes from the previous 52 weeks. Daniil Medvedev remains world number 1 in the most recent edition of the ATP Rankings.

He's closely followed by Alexander Zverev. Then, players behind Rafael Nadal are engaged in a close fight for every position as Carlos Alcaraz is fourth, Casper Ruud 5th, Novak Djokovic sixth and Stefanos Tsitsipas ranks as world number 8.
