Andrey Rublev withdrew from the ATP 250 event in Naples that doesn't have the best reputation after images of the courts in terrible condition emerged.

Rublev withdrew from the competition for a variety of reasons, as it would have been his third consecutive week of participation. It's not something that is recommended for players as the ATP Finals and the Paris Masters draw nearer.

It would have been a pretty fast turnaround for him if he had played as he had a very long week in Gijon that will end with the final later today. Additionally, the pictures and reports that are pouring out of Naples today undoubtedly influenced his choice.

The organizers were trying to find a solution after hearing that players were refusing to participate in qualifying matches, and photographs that eventually circulated showed that the courts were in appalling condition.

The organizers are planning to hold the qualifications on some other courts in the city while working to fix the ones for the main draw, which is scheduled to start on Monday, despite the bumps, lumps, and other anomalies that have been noticed.
