'Won't Buy This Trash Article': Pegula After Another Use Of 'Billionaire' Status

Jessica Pegula is the daughter of a billionaire, and while it's not something many know outside of the United States it's still used to produce some stories that she doesn't agree with.

Jessica Pegula is a tremendous tennis player as the American proved herself with very consistent performances last year. She's been the second-best player behind Iga Swiatek and Ons Jabeur for much of last year and earned a place at the WTA Finals in Forth Worth.

She has been a seasoned professional for many years now, slowly improving from a solid to a really strong player. She plays both singles and doubles on a very high level, a rarity in modern tennis, and her recent Wimbledon run proved that she's basically on a level where she contends for Grand Slam trophies regularly.

Her tennis achievements should be the thing people talk about the most and while most of the time it is, her being the daughter of a billionaire still gets more media space than it really needs to. Pegula recently clarified at Wimbledon that her parents' wealth is not her wealth even though she's not bothered by people calling her the richest tennis player in the world.

In the United States, the Pegula surname is very famous as the family owns two notable sports franchises (Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres). Her father, Terry Pegula, is a billionaire, and it's something that the media reference from time to time.

Just recently, a publication referenced her family's wealth by using it in the headline about her recent Grand Slam performances. The American wasn't a fan of the headline, as she reacted on Twitter. The headline suggested that 'Pegula needs dynamic that family billions can't buy' and the American had quite a hilarious reaction to it.
