Emma Raducanu is not worried about her tennis comeback, knowing that she has plenty of years ahead in her career.

Raducanu had a tremendous rise in tennis, which essentially happened in a few months. Her first big break came at Wimbledon, only for her to become the first qualifier to win a Grand Slam not even three months later.

Since then, though, not much has happened. Plenty of injuries, very few wins, and quite a significant drop in the WTA Rankings. It didn't look pretty, but she hopes to run a new page in 2024. She'll be returning healthy, motivated, and without any pressure, as she explained to BBC Sport in a recent interview.

It's a new type of challenge for Raducanu, though not something she's unfamiliar with and certainly not something that will impact her bright future in tennis.

I will be coming back with probably a lower ranking, but I'm actually looking forward to starting again, kind of resetting. I already have that in the bank, so it’s like, ‘Ok, now I can just keep going and keep building from here. I still have new goals, new things I want to achieve.
But I've still got like 15 years left in my career, so there's no rush.

It's a pretty neat mindset to have, though also one that could backfire if she doesn't keep the motivation up. It seems like that isn't a problem now after she missed close to a year of tennis, but it's a thing she'll need to keep an eye out for.

Though it seems laughable, she's already been accused of prioritizing things like brand deals or fashion instead of tennis. You don't win a Grand Slam without being committed to tennis, no matter how lucky your run might be.

As she likes to say, she won a Grand Slam already. Not many tennis players did it, and she's right.
