Naomi Osaka's tennis career is not unfolding the way many thought it would when she won her 4th grand slam trophy a few years ago in Melbourne.

Naomi Osaka hasn't spent a lot of time on the tennis court in the past year and more due to some mental health issues and generally taking time away from the sport. She's on an extended break from tennis after announcing her pregnancy last year though she did promise to return to tennis.

According to Osaka, who spoke on her tennis career in an interview since then, she's planning a return in 2024 with Melbourne and the Australian Open as the likely target. None of the recent developments has calmed down the fears of fans who are uncertain whether she's really committed to returning back to the sport though reports indicate that she is.

The desire to return to the sport hasn't been strong in a while and many wonder whether she's planning to play at all. Nobody knows for sure but Osaka took to Twitter recently to dismiss worry about her career and future urging people to do something else.

Btw to the people that are suddenly concerned about my career- There are plenty of male athletes with kids that are significantly less accomplished, you might wanna worry about them instead. Thanks for the concern, might wanna redirect it to someone that needs it though.

It's pretty clear that Osaka is not really keen on people speculating about her commitment to tennis and that's pretty in line with her being rather reserved and very private off the court. Being a mother will certainly complicate things a bit more for her but she seems rather comfortable where she's at and that's ultimately the most important thing. Fans are simply going to have to wait and see what happens.
