Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils welcomed their first child as the Ukrainian shared on her social media.
It's been a difficult year for both new parents. Elina Svitolina played her last match in March and was away from tennis mostly due to pregnancy but also because of a situation in Ukraine and her efforts to help. On the other hand, Gael Monfils played only 21 matches and struggled with an injury this season.
Moreover, the Frenchman wanted to be with his wife in these difficult times for her country as well as during her pregnancy. Previously, he showed that he really can't wait to become a father, when he said: "It's gonna be a different life. I can’t wait to have my baby girl, I hope I’ll be a cool daddy."
Former world no. 3 shared news on social media with a picture of both parents touching baby's little hand. She added a caption saying:
"What a night !!! Ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to Skaï Monfils. Can’t thanks enough my husband to live thru this unforgettable moment with me."
