John McEnroe and Andre Agassi will compete in their second Pickleball Slam, and this time, they will get some help from retired WTA players.
McEnroe was one of the players who took part in the first Pickleball Slam, and the legendary American player will return for the second edition. But this time, it won't be a men's doubles match but a mixed doubles clash.
The inaugural Pickleball Slam was held in April 2023, and it proved to be quite a success. Many people tuned into the event, which saw Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick beat John McEnroe and Michael Chang.
This time around, fans will get to enjoy some WTA star power as Maria Sharapova and Steffi Graf will join the event as well. Agassi, who took part in the first event, was very happy to be part of the Pickleball Slam 2 as well.
"After Andy and I took home the hardware at the first Pickleball Slam, I said I would be playing pickleball as long as I can walk—that’s how much I enjoy this game. Naturally, I am so excited to share this experience with one of the best tennis players, my wife."
The Pickleball Slam 2 will be held on February 4th, 2024, and it will be aired on ESPN while the event will take place at the Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
Players will again compete for $1 million for the champions, and Graf, who is one of the two new additions to the tournament, was obviously excited to be a part of this tournament.
"When I watched the inaugural Pickleball Slam in April and stepped onto the court, I was hooked. Andre and I can’t wait to get back out on the court together to face off against Maria and John."
