Kamilla Rakhimova is a Russian professional tennis player who was born on August 28, 2001, in Yekaterinburg, Russia. Growing up in Russia, the youngster started to knock balls around age 5, learning her trade right from an early age.

After time spent on the junior tour, it was time to make the step up to the women’s leagues. Following a few seasons spent on the ITF Tour, she first got her chance at the main draw of a WTA event in 2019.

Gifted a wildcard into the first round of the Baltic Open, Diana Marcinkevica proved too strong for the debutant. More WTA appearances proved hard to come by for Rakhimova, but the 2020 French Open proved pivotal for her. Battling through three tough qualifying rounds, her Grand Slam debut went as well as she could have asked for – a straight-sets win against Shelby Rogers.

Continuing to grow her game, it was the doubles side of things where she flourished in 2021, with her first claiming her maiden WTA title at the Phillip Island Trophy, before going on to end the season on a high when she won at the Austria Open in Linz.

2021 brought equally important results for her singles game, with the Russian going as far as any Grand Slam as she had done until that point at the US Open when she reached the third round.

She continued along the same vein in 2022 in reaching her first semifinal appearances at the Bogota Open and Rouen Open. 2023 offered her more memorable moments when she made her WTA 1000 debut at the Italian Open in Rome.

A good spell towards the middle of the season saw her break into the world's Top 65 in June. Rakhimova certainly has a bright future in store, with her number one goal at the moment being that coveted first WTA title.
