Aryna Sabalenka won't have to worry about her World No. 1 spot anytime soon. She kept her huge lead over Coco Gauff also in the latest edition of the rankings.
There were two Tour-level tournaments played in the week after the Wimbledon Championships. Both were WTA 250 tournaments, with one being held in Hamburg and the other in Iasi.
Naturally, the best players in the world didn't compete in these tournaments, as they recovered after a challenging fortnight in the British capital. One of those players was Aryna Sabalenka, who kept her World No. 1 spot with 12,420 points.
The Belarusian recently launched her own YouTube channel, showing how she spends her days. Coco Gauff is also one of the most active players on social media, and this duo, which has even recorded a TikTok together, occupies the top two spots on the WTA Tour. Gauff is second with 7,669 points.
Closing up on her career-high World No. 1 rank, Iga Swiatek is third with 6,813 points. She is 390 points ahead of the fourth Jessica Pegula, who has 6,423 points to her name.
Mirra Andreeva stayed in her career-best fifth place in the latest edition of the WTA Rankings. The only teenager in the Top 30 has 5,163 points. She even increased the gap between herself and the closest competitor.
Qinwen Zheng lost 250 points, which she earned for winning a title in Palermo last year. The Chinese player has recently undergone surgery, so she won't appear on the tennis courts anytime soon. For now, she remains sixth with 4,553 points.
Close behind Zheng is Amanda Anisimova, who sits in her career-best World No. 7 position. She has 4,470 points, only 96 more than eighth Madison Keys. There are a total of four American players in the Top 8 of the WTA Rankings.
Jasmine Paolini with 3,576 points and Paula Badosa, who has 3,454 points, close out the Top 10. Although there weren't any moves in the Top 10 this week, there were plenty outside of it.
Lois Boisson, who sensationally reached the semi-finals at this year's French Open as a wild card, continued her ascent up the WTA Rankings. She now broke into the Top 50 after winning the title in Hamburg. The 22-year-old Frenchwoman rose by 19 positions to the World No. 44 spot.
Her final opponent in Hamburg, Anna Bondar, also skyrocketed up the rankings. She earned 163 points for reaching the final in the German city, which helped her to reach the World No. 59 spot. That's nine positions away from her career-high No. 50 position.
Another player who made a huge jump in the rankings is Irina-Camelia Begu. The 34-year-old player won the title in Iasi. Thanks to that, she moved up by 28 positions to the World No. 82 spot.
With the WTA 500 event in Washington up next, more movements in the rankings are expected next week, this time even in the Top 10.
