Novak Djokovic had some words for Cameron Norrie following their Italian Open match recently but the situation is fine now.
Djokovic and Norrie battled in Rome recently with the British player hitting Djokovic with the ball while his back was turned. It wasn't something Djokovic appreciated as he gave him the 'death stare'. After the match, Djokovic had some comments for Norrie explaining that his behaviour wasn't 'fair play'.
The Brit didn't speak to the media following that loss but he did say some things much later and he didn't really hold back. Norrie was asked about it once more in an interview with The Times and he confirmed that he and Djokovic were on good terms having spoken since then.
We are good. We talked. We are fine now. At the end of the day, he won.
Norrie is back home in London where he's looking forward to competing at the Cinch Championship. The Brit stood in the final two years ago and he's hoping for a good run once more. Last year's Wimbledon was good for him though he couldn't go past Djokovic.
He’s so difficult. You hit a good shot, right on the line, should be a winner, and he is still bringing it back. So you have another chance and you force it, miss the line by a tiny margin and the point is gone.- On facing Djokovic at Wimbledon
He pushes you more and more to the point you have to hit it perfectly. It’s tough not to overplay when you feel like you have to be perfect. That messes with your concentration and then he’s on you. It’s tough but that’s the challenge.
Beating him at Wimbledon is truly tricky with Andy Murray being the only player in this year's draw to have ever beaten Djokovic on a grass court. Norrie would like to do it but it's tough. Kyrgios for example doesn't think anybody but him could do it.
