Emma Raducanu quickly became the leading player for many kids in the UK but not all are fans of her according to a very funny video posted by Raducanu herself.
The Lawn Tennis Association invests a lot of money and effort in promoting tennis among the youth. It's a popular sport in the UK, though, not the most popular one. Even so, there are plenty of new generations picking up a racquet and at times the national association enlists the help of some established professional players.
One of those established players is Emma Raducanu who recently pledged monetary support towards promoting the sport among Brtain's youth. She also did a funny video with some members of the kids' programme with the vast majority of them being fans of Raducanu.
Her popularity exploded during her US Open run. Millions watched her lift the trophy and she quickly became the favourite among young tennis players. Not all though as one kid quite openly admitted that Raducanu was not their favourite player. Most did and they were quite amazed to see Raducanu surprise them. She asked some of them for tips with one proving quite savage.
Just try and practice a bit more.
The kid who was unimpressed with Raducanu named Rafael Nadal as his favourite player and when asked if he wanted to take a picture with the player, the kid opted not to do it. He was the only one that didn't take the picture and simply walked away from the stage leaving Raducanu nervously laughing. She took it fairly well captioning the video:
"'so fun surprising these LTA Youth kids and getting roasted."
The Brit is currently away from the sport following triple surgery to fix her injuries. She is likely to come back later this year but in the meantime lost her number one rank among British players.
Despite not many things happening on the court Raducanu parted ways with her coach, something many questioned once again. Hopefully, some calmer times are coming for Raducanu whose career has been very shaky since the US Open breakthrough.
