Frances made it clear after the second question he was asked about Kyrgios:
Frances Tiafoe matched his best result at the US Open when he reached the fourth round for the third consecutive year.
The 24-years-old American is playing really well in the Flushing Meadows this year so far when he defeated Marcos Giron, Jason Kubler and Diego Schwartzman without losing a set. In the fourth round, Frances Tiafoe will take on the second-seeded Rafael Nadal and he will hope to stun the 22-time Grand Slam champion.
After winning his third-round match, Tiafoe traditionally attended a press conference where he was asked various questions. At one point, he got asked about Nick Kyrgios who he knows very well and the American answered:
"Me and Nick hang out a lot outside of tennis. Not so much now, but I don't really have a story to tell you. I think what he's doing is great, I think seeing him play so well is great. Most of the matches he's playing, he's packing out stadiums. He's got a huge match with Medvedev so I will be watching that. I like seeing him try and really give everything. I think he's really good for the game of tennis," answered Tiafoe.
However, a few moments later, he got another question about the 27-years-old Australian and he made it clear why he attends the press conference, stating:
"I'm here to talk about me being in the 4th round, not to talk about Nick Kyrgios," Tiafoe responded.
