Sinner Opens Up About Special Bond That Has Helped Him During His Career

by Jordan Reynolds

Jannik Sinner has discussed the importance of someone in his life that he still considers a best friend.

Sinner, who went skiing ahead of the new season, has had a lot of influences throughout his career so far. They have helped to shape him into one of the best players in the sport.

Many of these influences are those Sinner met through playing tennis. Examples are Riccardo Piatti, who coached Sinner from his teenage years until February 2022, and current coach Darren Cahill.

However, Sinner has spoken about the importance of someone much more personal in an interview. That person is his brother Marc.

"My brother is maybe my first best friend. When I'm in trouble, he always tells me the truth.""I feel very happy and grateful to have him, and even luckier that he is three years older than him."

This is a fascinating insight. It shows how the power of family can resonate even when they are not directly involved in tennis. Sinner's brother is not a tennis player, yet he still feels he can go to him when he is finding it tough.

It proves that succeeding as a top athlete is not just about the technical and tactical support. Having emotional support is also crucial in such a pressurized job, and an older sibling can be perfect for that.

His family and friends are the reason that Sinner says he remains the same person despite his newfound fame.

"I always remember where I come from and although many people recognize me on the slopes, being with my friends and family gives me the security that I will always remain the same boy."

Sinner is hoping to achieve Grand Slam glory this year. The perspective he still has despite being a famous athlete is likely to help him achieve all his goals in the future.
