The Los Cabos Open seems to be a popular event among players, as some big names have already signed up for it in 2024.
Mexico is becoming a pretty popular destination for tennis players, with many signing up to play events there. It helps that the events are held in exotic locations, essentially resort towns. Los Cabos certainly fits that bill, and unsurprisingly, we see plenty of players signing up to play tennis there.
This year's edition concluded with Stefanos Tsitsipas beating Alex de Minaur in the final, and the Greek will be back next year in hopes of defending his trophy. Besides him, we'll also see some other good players, such as Holger Rune, Casper Ruud and Alexander Zverev.
All of them have played in Mexico in the past, and the event changing dates probably helps with it as well. It was generally held in the summer but will be moving to February next year, which Casper Ruud actually spoiled before it was official. Both ATP events in Mexico, Acapulco and Los Cabos, will now be held in back-to-back weeks.
That's quite convenient for travelling because the Acapulco event is also a trendy tennis event among players. The tournament director was excited to announce players' commitment, pointing out that next year's event will likely have one of the strongest lineups ever.
Undoubtedly, we will have one of the best lineups in the tournament’s history. This event has been consolidating over the years, and more and more players want to come and experience it and compete in Los Cabos. We are very excited about our new date; it marks a new era for the organization for Mextenis, and we hope it will be excellent for the fans. We are confident that it will benefit everyone.- Tournament director José Antonio Fernández on the entry list
