Roger Federer admitted recently that he misses being in tennis, but ultimately it doesn't matter that much.
Federer spent much of his career in the limelight being adored by millions around the globe. While that's still the case, he's not in the spotlight anymore largely because he's retired and living a rather quiet life back home in Switzerland.
It's the way he always preferred it, yet in a recent interview, the Swiss Ace admitted that he does miss being in the spotlight. It's not a huge surprise because very few players ever reached the global popularity he had, and it's a special feeling. Despite that, he's content with where he is in life right now, and he still gets the spotlight when he does make an appearance.
Secretly, you like to be the centre of attention, but at the same time, it doesn't matter anymore. It's good the way it is right now. Of course, I miss seeing the happy faces of people hopefully I was able to entertain. The tour was good to me. I loved it, every moment, but I am happy retired now.
Such was the case this week in Vancouver as Federer was there for the Laver Cup. He garnered a lot of attention, which makes sense as he technically was the biggest tennis name in attendance there, even if he's not a player. He talked about the Laver Cup and his vision in the same interview.
