Rafael Nadal recently revealed that he would like to have a joint tour of exhibition events with his retired rival Roger Federer.

Federer and Nadal are two of the biggest rivals that ever competed on the ATP Tour, but they are also very good friends. Every tennis fan remembers an emotional picture of the Swiss Maestro holding hands with the Spaniard during his retirement, showing incredible respect and friendship between the two of them.

Therefore, it's not a surprise that once Nadal also retires from tennis, the two might appear on the tennis courts together again. It's not unheard of for former players to participate in exhibition events, and that could be something that Nadal and Federer could do as well.

Currently, the 22-time Grand Slam champion travels with Casper Ruud around South America. He wants to bring tennis to places where fans couldn't see it before. He would like to do something very similar also with his friend Federer in the future.

The two have met 40 times on the ATP Tour, with Nadal winning 24 of those matches, and while they won't add any competitive matches to their rivalry, the Spaniard could see them playing on an exhibition court.

During his press conference in Mexico, as per Puntodebreak, Nadal also spoke about Federer. The Spanish player admitted that he is open to the idea of having a "joint tour" with the Swiss Maestro, even naming Mexico as one of the possible host cities of their exhibitions.

"We have lived a very nice rivalry and I hope that soon we can do a joint tour in which we play against each other in places that were not able to enjoy our history. Mexico would be an ideal place."

While the exhibitions might not take place in the coming months, as Nadal is still an active player, once the Spaniard retires, it's possible that he and Federer will again play against each other.
