ATP Tour creates its own ATP Rankings that are published every week but there are also other indexes to evaluate how good are certain tennis players.

The Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) is an index that measures tennis players' abilities and is meant to be trustworthy and accurate. Regardless of ability level, UTR scores all players on a same 16-point scale that applies to players worldwide, from amateurs to the best professional competition.

The latest 30 eligible matches that were played within the previous 12 months are used by the UTR algorithm to determine ratings. The opponent's rating and the percentage of games won—rather than just the won-lost result—are the two most important data points. A player's UTR is a weighted average of all of their qualified matches; each match they play results in a rating.

Since a different approach to how players are evaluated, it's not a surprise that the Top 10 is also different. While most of the players in it are the same, order is much different as UTR is dominated by Novak Djokovic, who is 5th in the ATP Rankings.

World no. 22, Nick Kyrgios is the second-best player ahead of the third Daniil Medvedev and no. 4 Felix Auger-Aliassime. World no. 2, Rafael Nadal is only 5th in UTR and he's followed by Taylor Fritz.

The youngest world no. 1 in the history of men's tennis, Carlos Alcaraz is ranked only 7th with rest of the Top 10 including Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev and Holger Rune.

UTR Top 10:

1. Novak Djokovic 16.25
2. Nick Kyrgios 16.06
3. Daniil Medvedev 16.03
4. Felix Auger-Aliassime 16.02
5. Rafael Nadal 16.01
6. Taylor Fritz 15.97
7. Carlos Alcaraz 15.95
8. Stefanos Tsitsipas 15.92
9. Alexander Zverev 15.88
10. Holger Rune 15.85
