Nick Kyrgios is scheduled to appear before a Canberra court on August 2nd however this has been postponed to August 23rd.

While Nick Kyrgios was enjoying his best Wimbledon run ever a few weeks ago, reports from Australia indicated that he's been accused of assault by former girlfriend Chaira Passari. The accusations relate to an incident in January of 2021 when Kyrgios allegedly grabbed Passari. The incident was reported to police many months after in December as the pairing split up.

Kyrgios was set to appear before a Canberra court on August 2nd however that date is now postponed to August 23rd, only a week before the US Open is set to begin. Kyrgios briefly addressed the allegation at Wimbledon explaining he had much to say but was advised against it by lawyers.

Canberra solicitor Michael Kukulies-Smith is now acting on Kyrgios' behalf and he would not confirm or deny the details of the charge, saying it would be inappropriate to do so or reveal his client's instructions while the matter is before the court. The first information should come out after the initial hearing on August 23rd.
