Iga Swiatek is currently competing on home soil at the Polish Open, but she decided to stay in a hotel for the tournament like she does at every other tournament during the season.

Swiatek has enjoyed a remarkable season. She won 37 consecutive matches until Wimbledon when Alize Cornet finally broke her streak at SW19. The Pole secured a second French Open title during that winning run.

The world No. 1's professionalism at the age of 21 is unique. That has been demonstrated by Swiatek electing to stay at a hotel during the Warsaw Open on home soil rather than staying with friends or family.

Swiatek achieved her amazing winning run by staying in hotels in different parts of the world. Some players find that aspect of tennis life difficult, but she wants to simulate how tour life is typically during the tournament.

That shows how seriously Swiatek is taking the WTA-250 tournament. Tennis writer Damian Kust posted on Twitter about her decision, saying the world No. 1 was worried she would lose focus if she did not stay at a hotel.

"I found this interesting - Iga Świątek said she has moved to a hotel for the duration of the tournament, trying to simulate life on the tour (her team is also there). She's not spending much time at home as she's afraid it would make her lose focus."

Some might think Swiatek's decision is somewhat extreme. The tennis tour is very long and brutal, and it could be argued that taking some time to stay at home during a tournament and playing in a more relaxed environment could be positive.

However, it is tough to argue with the methods of someone as successful as Swiatek. Her results this year prove she understands what works best for her. The other players in the Warsaw Open draw will not be happy to know she is taking extra steps to be focused.
