Daniil Medvedev has expressed his strong desire to compete at the 2023 Wimbledon tournament, which he was forced to miss last year.

However, there is uncertainty surrounding his participation due to the ongoing war in Ukraine and the potential ban on Russian athletes from the event again. Despite the uncertainty, Medvedev remains determined to showcase his skills on the grass court. Speaking to Eurosport, he said:

“I like grass but it’s a very tough surface, it’s a little bit tougher than hard courts, and that’s where I think Novak is amazing winning so many grass-court tournaments.”

Medvedev's comments have generated much speculation among tennis fans and analysts. Many are eager to see how the situation will unfold and whether Medvedev and fellow Russian and Belarusian athletes will be able to participate.

"I want to play on grass, I want to play Wimbledon. I don’t know what their decision is going to be. I’m just going to wait for it and hopefully, I can play Wimbledon this year and show some great results.”
