Juan Martin Del Potro hints possible come back to bid farewell next year

The 33-years-old Argentinian played his last match in Buenos Aires this year as he returned to the ATP Tour after three years away.

Juan Martin Del Potro had a very successful career when he managed to win a Grand Slam title at the 2009 US Open and also collect to Olympic medals. However, he was one of the players that struggled with injuries and therefore, he always needed to climb up in the ATP Rankings after missing majority of the season as it happened in 2010 and 2015, the only two season since 2009 that the Argentinian ended without a title.

Since his only Grand Slam triumph came in the Flushing Meadows, Del Potro spoke about possible come back next year to bid farewell in front of the crowd in New York, when he said:

“I keep trying treatments, hoping to find one that can help me improve my quality of life and be fine with my knee,” Juan Martin Del Potro told ESPN. “The priority is to live without pain, I am still looking for the right treatment and the window to resume competition will be open.”

"If I improvise, I want to try to get back to the circuit. And today here—in New York—he told me about the opportunity to bid me farewell next year.”
