Holger Rune will make his Canadian Open start against Marcos Giron, so let's see what might happen in this round-two match.
The last time we saw Holger Rune play tennis was at the Hopman Cup, and he didn't play well. The Dane revealed after those bad performances that he'd been sick, which prompted him to withdraw from the Croatia Open.
We didn't see him play anymore, as his next public appearance was on social media during a practice session with Caroline Wozniacki. She won her first match in Canada and now it's time for Rune to try and do the same thing.
His opponent will be Marcos Giron, who did really well to beat Emil Ruusuvuori in the opening round to set up this match. It's an interesting one but certainly one where Rune is heavily favoured but he also was the last time they played.
Head-to-head
Their only match so far happened at last year's Wimbledon, and it was an easy straight-sets win for Marcos Giron. The Danish player wasn't a very good player on grass last year when they played as his first win on the surface came this year. That in itself shows improvement, and he's a far better player this year compared to last year.
Prediction
So what might happen there? Well, both players are rather quick around the court but Rune has far more power in his arsenal. The Danish player is the more aggressive player, he likes to go for winners more so than Giron and his best serve is better than the best serve of Giron though the American seems to be a bit more consistent when it comes to serving.
Considering that this court favours those who love to play attacking tennis, it's pretty clear that Rune is the likely winner.
Prediction: Holger Rune to win in two sets.
