Djokovic's Ability To Win More Grand Slams 'Depends On His Motivation' According To Becker

Novak Djokovic lost the 2023 Wimbledon final, and his former coach Boris Becker shared his thoughts after the match on Instagram.

Boris Becker is a rather familiar name to the wider tennis audience as the German is a Wimbledon legend in his own right. His tennis exploits are well known and some of the other ones are too but that iconic tennis career is now behind him but he's still a rather prominent face in modern-day tennis. Most of that is due to him being an analyst, a preferred career path for many former players.

Becker has worked as part of the BBC Wimbledon coverage team for many years and actually lived near Wimbledon for many years as well. He was not in London this year as he couldn't enter the country legally following his conviction and deportation.

He needs to wait for his full sentence to expire before he's able to enter the United Kingdom and due to that, Becker was removed from the BBC coverage team. Obviously, German still follows tennis and followed the final witnessing his former portégé losing.

Becker actually confessed that he cried in prison after seeing Djokovic win last year's event but this time around, he didn't get to see that. He saw Carlos Alcaraz produce one of his best efforts to win the 2023 Wimbledon Championships.

Becker was asked about the match during an Instagram Q and A session and he said that Djokovic's motivation will prove crucial in possibly winning more Grand Slams in the future. He himself has no doubts that he's got more in store.

Today Nole was the favourite but lost?! Yes I do, it all depends on his motivation over the summer but physically Nole has more Majors in him.
