Djokovic Happy To Be Allowed To Practice On 'Best Court In the World' Ahead Of Wimbledon

Novak Djokovic got the chance to practice on the Wimbledon Centre Court once more and he was delighted about feeling the grass on the best court in the world.

Novak Djokovic is a 7 time Wimbledon champion and it's far more than he ever hoped to win. The ATP legend has never been shy about his goals but he never expected to be as good as he ultimately became. One of his childhood memories was being back home in Serbia and watching Pete Sampras compete on the grass in London.

He wanted to do the same and ultimately many years later he would get the chance. He would win it in 2011 for the first time and then add six more including four consecutive from 2018 onwards. Winning was always a dream for him but he's hardly the only one with that dream.

I'm sure I'm not the only player that dreamt of winning Wimbledon, playing Wimbledon. It's a favourite tournament for so many players around the world. It has nurtured its tradition for so many years so it was a little bit strange, I must say, that they were allowing us to be on the Centre Court before the tournament starts.

Just like last year, Djokovic was allowed to practice on the Centre Court which was a tremendous experience for him. He was once again reminded of why he loved the event so much praising the quality of the courts and calling it the best in the world.

Last year was the first year so again this year I had the privilege to go out onto the fresh grass and I had a 45-minute hit and felt the court and it's as good as it can be for a grass court. It's the best court in the world, probably the most special and the most well known tennis stadium in the world of tennis so of course every year feels like the first time to be honest.

Djokovic got a really solid draw as he will face Pedro Cachin in the first round. It's a pretty solid draw for the Serbian whose only match on grass this year came recently at the Hurlingham exhibition against Frances Tiafoe.
