The ATP tour in recent weeks has been widely dominated by a group of up-and-coming youngsters and Pam Shriver thinks it's thanks to Carlos Alcaraz.

Tennis has no shortage of talented players, but relatively few of them have a lasting influence at the beginning of their careers. Felix Auger-Aliassime first gained notoriety as a teenager, although he has only recently begun to win competitions. Another one who has made a name for himself this year is Holger Rune who recently won the trophy.

According to Shriver, it's mostly thanks to Carlos Alcaraz who became the youngest world no. 1 in history of men's tennis and showed this year that teenagers can have an impact in the tennis world.

"It’s like Carlos Alcaraz has allowed the younger generation of ATP Tour players realize they can too win at big events and go for #1 during sunset of big 3/big 4 era. Felix Auger-Aliassime, Holger Rune, fun to watch," Shriver tweeted the former player.
