Andy Murray will be playing at the Queen's Club event that he won in the past alongside a big number of native British players.
We will see a very strong Queen's Club event later this year unless the LTA elects to ban Russian and Belarusian players once more which could see them stripped of all of their events sending this event into early retirement.
The Cinch Championships will host at least 10 British players across all competitions and former champion Murray will be among them. The Brit missed the event last year opting to play in Stuttgart which was a good event for him but it also saw him injuring himself preventing him to play in Queen's the following week.
Besides Murray, we'll also see other Union Jack defenders such as 2021 finalist Cameron Norrie, Dan Evans and Jack Draper. Neal Skupski, Joe Salisbury, Lloyd Galsspool and Jamie Murray will play doubles.
Murray won the event five times in the past and it was a major staple for his Wimbledon preparations which proved fruitful two times when he actually won Wimbledon. The former world number 1 will be joined also by another player that has experience with occupying this spot, Carlos Alcaraz who is set to make his debut. He released a statement after the news was confirmed saying.
It's always a great week at the Cinch Championships, playing at the Queen's Club with British fans. Obviously I have a lot of special memories there so I'm really looking forward to returning this year.
The event will run from June 19th till the 25th of the same month with the event belonging to the ATP 500 category. The defending champion is Matteo Berrettini as he won the event in the past two years and it wasn't really that close. He's been utterly dominant but Murray will lead the charge to install a Brit as champion once more.
He's been very impressive this year considering the circumstances and he confirmed that by declaring he feels the best he's felt in a long time.
