In 2022, Sebastian Korda is the only person to defeat Carlos Alcaraz on clay and he didn't add another win at the Roland Garros.

Rio de Janeiro, Barcelona and Madrid are all the places where Carlos Alcaraz triumphed on clay this year. However, at the Monte-Carlo Masters, he was stopped already in the first round by Sebastian Korda. And it was the American who he faced in the third round of the 2022 Roland Garros.

In a previous round, the young Spaniard was already one point from leaving Paris as he faced a match point against fellow countryman Albert Ramos. Yet, he managed to win the match and set up a clash with Korda who he had a lot to payback for.

This time, Alcaraz didn't leave any doubt that he doesn't want to win the match. In the first set, he didn't allow his opponent to have any breakpoints, while he broke him once to win it 6-4 in 40 minutes. However, in the second set, it was the American who was the first player to have breakpoints.

In the fourth game of the second set, he had two, but failed to convert them and got broken in the very next game. The Spaniard then had 5 set points in the ninth game, but needed two more on his serve in the tenth to gain a 2-0 lead in the match.

Being 0-2 down, Korda felt the pressure and he didn't cope with it well as he made 14 unforced errors in the third set while hitting only 3 winners what resulted in a swift 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 win for Carlos Alcaraz who will be playing against Karen Khachanov in the fourth round of the 2022 Roland Garros.
