Nick Kyrgios has laughed off a suggestion by former player Rennae Stuubs that women's tennis was better quality than men's at the 2023 Roland Garros.

Nick Kyrgios is back in Europe as the Australian is getting ready to come back to tennis at the 2023 Stuttgart Open. As he was getting ready to come back, the Australian closely followed the developments at Roland Garros chiming a few times with his commentary.

He shared his thoughts on several topics including whether Alcaraz has any weaknesses and then shared some encouraging words for the youngster whom he correctly picked to win the US Open last year.

Kyrgios is a big fan of his game so the words didn't surprise anyone. What did surprise the Australian was a suggestion by former player Rennae Stubbs that the women's matches outshined the men's matches at the second Grand Slam tournament of the season.

Don’t tell me women’s tennis boring! The semis were better and now this final is fantastic! Yes the 2nd set of Alcaraz Joker was amazing but the match was blah and the Rudd Zverev match was BLAHHH . Thank goodness for the ladies!

Stubbs on Twitter

It was not a shocking statement by Stubbs as she's a very keen backer of women's tennis which is natural. She wants to see it grow and the matches did deliver a good level of tennis. Were they better than the men's matches? That's subjective but you could certainly say they were more dramatic and competitive. Kyrgios however responded in a typical fashion.

His response

It was a pretty clear rebuttal from Kyrgios who found the statement funny. Stubbs, who doesn't shy away from engaging with fans or anybody on Twitter, responded to Kyrgios with 'Tell me where i am wrong Nick?' His response? Well...
