Only one week remains until the 2022 US Open, and most athletes have already arrived in New York to get ready. Among them are Carlos Alcaraz and Nick Kyrgios, and the Australian appears to be very impressed with the Spaniard. After Eurosport asked tennis fans to predict who would win the US Open, the Australian selected Alcaraz.
The full list of players includes Medvedev, Alcaraz, Nadal, Zverev, Tsitsipas, Sinner, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Matteo Berrettini, Taylor Fritz and Nick Kyrgios. The Aussie did not choose himself but he opted to write Alcaraz over the post in the story.
Given that the Spaniard showed extreme dominance on the fast courts last year, it is not an unlikely theory. With such an experience, it makes sense to anticipate that he will perform well in situations that fully enable him to unleash his tremendous groundstrokes.
