Serena Williams' travel to Grand Slam tournaments is significantly different now than it was a decade ago. Now, Olympia, the 23-time Grand Slam champion, always has a friend with her when she travels. Both have arrived in London, and Serena has begun her preparations for the 2022 Wimbledon, which will be held in Eastbourne.
Serena Williams has won the All England Club seven times in singles, six times in doubles, and once in mixed doubles, making it one of the Grand Slam tournaments where she has the most success.
She will return to the WTA Tour in 2022, having not competed since last year's Wimbledon, and it will be at the year's third Grand Slam tournament that the American will aim to earn her 24th Grand Slam title.
The American legend still needs to put in a lot of hours before attempting to win her 24th Grand Slam title, but in a recent exclusive interview with Tennis-Infinity.com, her former coach, Rick Macci said that she can win the title if she wants to.
"If she wants to do it, she has to fully commit and get in amazing shape. You don't lose the talent, you just lose the fitness. Then you get the confidence back once you start playing matches. She just has to dive in get used to winning and losing. She's probably the best competitor maybe in any women's sport we've ever seen."
